It has been a long time since I have written here. I have been so swamped getting "My Sweet Sadie's" into every one's home. I thank you to all that have been reading my blogs and I pray that you continue. These past couple of weeks have been productive and I am grateful to God that He is blessing me.

Before I go any further, I want to say "thank you" to my wonderful friends Lynn and Terrence Boyd! They took me out after church one Sunday afternoon and allowed me to talk their heads off! They have been so supportive of me and this business and I just wanted to say THANK YOU and I love you both!

So, we have been taking orders and getting the word out that "My Sweet Sadie's" taste is so distinctively different that everyone will LOVE our desserts! I pray that before the end of the year, we will have our own dessert boutique where everyone can come and enjoy the atmosphere and our delectable cupcakes!

It's 11:36 pm and I am finally back in NY! We had a blast in Charlotte, NC! While on the plane to Charlotte, I met this couple named Matt and Anna and they had just gotten engaged the other day! So, CONGRATULATIONS Matt and Anna! I hope "My Sweet Sadie's" will make your desserts for your wedding!
Tomorrow we will be back to making cupcakes and deliveries! I want to say thank you to those who supported us during our stay in NC! We will be back soon! Okay, time for bed now!

sitting in the airport

it's 4:50 pm and we're sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to arrive. We have a huge event to do in NC and have a connecting flight in Cleveland. So, I pray that we get there in time to catch the flight. Pray for us!

I wish I had a cupcake with me right now! HA~

Valentine's day

Well,

It is Valentine's weekend and I pray that you all have loved ones to share it with. I never grew up celebrating this day because valentine's day was everyday with my family!

"My Sweet Sadies's" will be closed for the weekend and re-open on Monday, February 16th. We have a huge order to get out and will be out of town....

I don't have a Valentine this year, but maybe I will next year..only God knows!!!! So, be well and have a wonderful weekend...I will be back on Monday...

Today is the BIG Day!!!

Well, today is the BIG day!!!! "My Sweet Sadie's" is live and ready for you all to order. It has been a long time coming and I thank God for giving me this opportunity to share my creativity with all of you (my customers).

I want to give thanks to:

Deneen of Deesignz Web & Graphics Studio for making my vision a reality! You are TOTALLY awesome and I thank God for you! I am so glad that we met and look forward to a life long partnership/friendship.

Lakiea (My Communications Director), you are a God sent. I don't know where I would be without you. I know that I can be a pain sometimes (Yes, a big one), but no matter what I say or do, you always know what needs to be done.

Tanya (My Business Manager) thank you for sitting with me on numerous occasions to write and rewrite my mission statement. You never complained when I needed to meet at different hours of the day.

My mom, words will NEVER describe how I feel about you! I love you! You are the BEST mother in the world!!

All of my "girls" that were in my focus group (My little sister Aneesah, Aunt Kathy, Dana, June Bug, Mom, Teresa, Schynel, Sheila, Sibit)... you all ROCK!!! I love each and everyone of you and no one can replace you!!! To my "Bean" Maya...Thanks so much for always assisting me when I needed you...You will be an AWESOME Chef when you grow up..I can't wait for us to work together....

Tia "gyrl" and Hadiyyah...my two partners (LOL)...the unconditional love will ALWAYS be there...to the end of time...

To all of my church family, Thank you for ordering cupcakes even before my Company was up and running...You took a chance even before you tasted them!!! I love you all...Thanks Rev. Richards for always ordering the "lady in red" cupcakes for the youth...Pastor, I am glad that you enjoyed them also....

LAST, but not LEAST...My Daughter Sade...From the moment I saw you 15 years ago, you touched my soul...You have brought me so much joy and I am elated that I call this company "My Sweet Sadie's" after you...Keep growing and keep striving for what God has planned for you! Remember, you can do all things through Christ! I LOVE YOU "Sadie" (smile)

My First Blog Post

Welcome to my first Blog ever!!! Are you wondering why I chose to blog on my site? Glad you asked...I wanted you (our customers) to get to know who is behind "My Sweet Sadie's" and why we chose to start a company during the most difficult time in our lives right now...

"My Sweet Sadie's" started out as a thought. I use to tell my family and friends that I was going to start a company one day. I enrolled in a Culinary school and majored in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. I met so many people who I am friends with today (Sharada who is one of my closest chef friends). At first I wanted a restaurant where people could come and enjoy my food. But, I changed my path because I really enjoyed desserts. So, I went to my first Cupcake class and the rest is history.

As you have read on my site, I came up with the name 'My Sweet Saide's" because it is an ode to my daughter Sade! She is such a beautiful child and I wanted to name my company after someone who I love and adore. "My Sweet Sadie's" is something that I am truly passionate about. I will always be involved with the creations of my desserts and you will always find our desserts to be made fresh daily!

I am so excited about this journey that I am on...That is why I am blogging, so that you can follow along! So, come with me as "My Sweet Sadie's" takes this journey of cupcake and cobbler making...
